Rafflesia the special plant

The Rafflesia is a parasitic plant which absorbs food substances from the tree's phloem tissues by using haustorium,parasites normally do not kill their hosts but continue to live on or in the host to drive benefits from the living host.

 

It ussually found in the southeastern Asia,on Malay Peninsula,Borneo,Sumatere,Thailands and Philliphines,The name of rafflesia is take by the name of Sir Thomas Stamford Raffles,he is the leader of expidition at indonesia,on 1818.


 

The plants not have steam and root and the weight of rafflesia is among 10 kg,there are many of species of rafflesia,its is about 28 species found.

 
 

Rafflesia is an official state flower of Indonesia,Sabah in Malaysia,as well at Surat Thani Province,Thailand.
